Life begins at the end of your comfort zone

I found this quote towards the end of the summer and it made me realize how important it is to break free from your "comfort zone." Everyone has their own perception on life and the limits they feel they cannot push through. In order to face challenges in life, you must force yourself to be daring enough to face your fears.
The picture above is from last summer when I went skydiving. Never in my life did I think I would be able to survive this bucket list attempt. It was one of those things where I always said I would go before I died but if the opportunity ever came, there was not a chance of me actually going. I was not only afraid of heights, but also flying and roller coasters. This was a point in time of my life where I realized that I had to conquer fears even though I knew I could be setting myself up to break some bones or die (no big deal), but you learn to take a chance.
After having a mini heart attack, screaming, and holding on for dear life, I somehow survived. Once you are past the free fall and you can drift in the sky, it is simply amazing. By far one of the most breathtaking, serene feelings that I will never forget. The view from such a distance made me appreciate life and what it has to offer. However the earth was made, it should be seen from every direction.
Always push yourself.

Read this and made me think of my mom. Cheers to our loved ones

I read this from an online article and got tears in my eyes. Whether it is for family, friends, acquaintances, or an unfamiliar face, it is always great to do random acts of kindness. -Lacey
...

It’s funny how most of us find the things that we do for other people to be special. We expect people to appreciate when we do them a favor or a kind gesture, as if they weren’t deserving of kindness and we were doing them a service for being nice to them.

Then, when they return the favor we feel that we deserve it- we were owed it. Each and every one of us deserves to be treated with respect, but no one should overlook another’s kindness. Be appreciative of what others do for you- it’s usually a lot more than you will ever realize.

“A little boy came up to his mother in the kitchen one evening while she was fixing supper, and handed her a piece of paper that he had been writing on. After his Mom dried her hands on an apron, she read it, and this is what it said:

For cutting the grass: $5.00
For cleaning up my room this week: $1.00
For going to the store for you: $.50
Baby-sitting my kid brother while you went shopping: $.25
Taking out the garbage: $1.00
For getting a good report card: $5.00
For cleaning up and raking the yard: $2.00
Total owed: $14.75

Well, his mother looked at him standing there, and the boy could see the memories flashing through her mind. She picked up the pen, turned over the paper he’d written on, and this is what she wrote:

For the nine months I carried you while you were growing inside me:
No Charge.

For all the nights that I’ve sat up with you, doctored and prayed for you:
No Charge.

For all the trying times, and all the tears that you’ve caused through the years:
No Charge.

For all the nights that were filled with dread, and for the worries I knew were ahead:
No Charge.

For the toys, food, clothes, and even wiping your nose:
No Charge.

Son, when you add it up, the cost of my love is:
No Charge.

When the boy finished reading what his mother had written, there were big tears in his eyes, and he looked straight at his mother and said, “Mom, I sure do love you.” And then he took the pen and in great big letters he wrote: “PAID IN FULL”. ~Unknown

Always remember that everything and everyone counts; look for ways to offer your love and appreciation more often to those around you without asking anything in return.

Give yourself entirely to those around you. Be generous with your blessings. A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal. ~Steve Maraboli

Life Lesson

This may not be a quote, and might not the the most appropriate, but this has to have happened to everyone a few times in their life. Those times when you wake up in the morning and you get a sudden urge to pee... You run to the bathroom and after you're done you look over and well ^ that happens. It is just a funny way of reminding people to change the toilet paper rolls. Or a better luck next time precaution.

Life Lesson: Always check the toilet paper before you sit down on the toilet :)

Enjoy your youth. You'll never be younger than you are at this very moment.

Where should I start? My birthday is coming up this weekend on October 21st. I will be turning 22 and I am in shock! I honestly feel like I am becoming a grandmother. Where have these years gone? Last year the month before I turned 21, I told myself I was going to do everything I possibly could to act my age and not like an "adult." You could say I accomplished that, but now that I am almost 22 I wanted to do the same this year. I always put in my head that turning 21 was going to be the biggest change in my life age wise. Looking back, I would have to say that being 21 was one of the most memorable years of my life. I made sure to enjoy everyday, travel more, spend plenty of money I should not have on alcohol because that's what the typical 21 year old college student should do (as bad as that sounds). Being almost 22 has made me realize how time really does fly by. I have so many memories from when I was a kid, middle school, high school etc. and now I am a senior in college!

Anyway, this quote is honestly so true. At this age we absolutely have to deal with a lot of responsibility, but you do not have to deal with the pain of getting older. There are plenty of exceptions, but most of us do not have to deal with loss of hearing, wearing glasses, wheelchairs, dentures, etc. We are at our prime age where we are able to enjoy everything. Embrace it.

In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different - CoCo Chanel

This has been one of my favorite quotes for years. I have always felt that one of the best qualities in someone is being unique. You have one life that is dedicated to yourself so embrace what makes you different. I am always changing things as I go and I think it is because sometimes I get a sense of dullness and need to spice things up. Whether it has to do with my fashion sense, people I am around, or outcome on life, I am always trying to change things for the better. Yes, you can look up to other people and have idols, but their spot is already taken.
Always be you.

Learning to blog...

Today is my first day of blogging for my Social Media Marketing class. I decided to do my blog on different types of quotes that will catch every emotion. I have so many thoughts that run through my mind and I love using quotes as a way to signify certain moments or situations. My goal is to have everyone that reads this be able to relate in someway whether they agree or not, hopefully they make you think.
